The PSEG Foundation To Give More Than $100,000 To Help NJ Residents
NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The PSEG Foundation is making an immediate $50,000 grant to the American Red Cross to assist customers in our New Jersey service territory with temporary shelter, food and other assistance.
In addition, the PSEG Foundation will contribute another $50,000 in total to organizations supporting recovery efforts in local New Jersey communities. We will be working with FEMA to identify organizations to benefit from these grants.
The PSEG Foundation also announced a matching grant of any donation by employees or retirees up to $500 per person to the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and NJ 211, a statewide call network that puts people in need in touch with people who can help.
Many PSEG employees, while working around the clock to restore power to their neighbors, are dealing with personal challenges themselves ranging from homes with tree damage to flooded homes. The PSEG Employee Crisis Fund is in place to support our employee's need. It is funded by the PSEG Foundation and by PSEG employees. Employees are urged to submit an application for immediate assistance.
"The Company's number one concern is restoring power safely to our customers. We have seen first-hand the devastation in the communities we serve and the impact on the lives of our customers caused by this storm. The PSEG Foundation is dedicated to helping the communities in New Jersey year round – but especially in times like these," said Shelia Rostiac, president, The PSEG Foundation.
The PSEG Foundation was established by PSEG to strengthen the communities where PSEG operates.
