The Puerto Rico Health Insurance Administration (ASES) Selects APS Healthcare to Implement The miSalud Healthcare Program for Mental Health Patients in Puerto Rico Based on the Integrated Total Health Management Model
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Nov. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- APS Healthcare, a leading provider of specialty health care services, was selected by the Puerto Rico Government Health Insurance Plan, miSalud, to provide systematic and integrated coordination of physical and behavioral health care for beneficiaries of miSalud throughout Puerto Rico.

Through its patient-centered approach, deployment of sophisticated proprietary technology, and experience, APS Healthcare is coordinating care for over 1,400,000 beneficiaries with mental illness and other chronic physical health conditions. Integrating these services to treat both physical and mental health will improve patient outcomes and reduce unnecessary expenditures and emergency department visits.

APS also will be providing psychiatric triage at Emergency Rooms and stabilization services at its network of Evaluation and Stabilization Units through Puerto Rico, and supporting homebound services.

APS' medication management solution will identify, assess, and target interventions to address provider prescribing patterns and adherence issues.
