The Reading Group Celebrates Success of Business Development Strategy at 2013 NTEA Work Truck Show
Truck Equipment Manufacturer Undergoes Significant Upgrades in Leadership, Processes and Product Portfolio
READING, Pa., March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Reading Group, a leading provider of high quality service truck equipment, continues its focused growth strategy at the 2013 NTEA Work Truck Show. From a strengthened leadership team to an enhanced product portfolio consisting of all 100% American made products, the company's commitment to its new Reading Business System is generating favorable results across all key performance indicators, including top-line growth, safety, and collaboration with external partners.
In December 2011, Brian Nadel joined The Reading Group as CEO with a vision for the company's future as an industry leader. By bolstering talent and personnel, realigning company resources to meet industry demands, and upgrading processes and practices, The Reading Group is experiencing accelerated growth.
Executive New Hires
The Reading Group's successful transformation began with strengthening the company's management team and hiring the right talent to support growth objectives. As previously announced, three senior level personnel were hired late 2012 to push the company forward. Ken Spear, new VP of Engineering, is driving new product development, evaluating the existing product portfolio and implementing vigorous engineering processes. Bob Besse, new VP of Sales & Marketing, is leading the company's go-to-market approach and efforts to expand customer and geographic reach. Susan Mitchell, Director of Human Resources, is cultivating the employee talent level, recruiting, and hiring for new positions. These new additions will contribute significantly to the continued improvement of The Reading Group's now highly productive, cohesive corporate culture.
Streamlined Production
Another facet of The Reading Group's growth strategy includes streamlining its production footprint and enhancing distribution operations to better serve a growing national customer base. By consolidating activities from several smaller sites into its larger regional facilities, the company will be able to service customers from more flexible facilities offering a greater range of capabilities. Reallocating production resources to better meet demand will improve The Reading Group's efficiency and productivity while strengthening customer and partner relationships. The company will continue to further develop these highly flexible sites to build a diverse range of products for both regional and national customers.
Expanded Product Portfolio
The paramount piece and key driver of The Reading Group's growth strategy is the product portfolio. The company is known for making quality, 100% American made products and offering industry-leading benefits of ownership, lead-times and warranties. By strengthening its R&D team with new hires, processes and programs, The Reading Group will not only continue to provide best-in-class products, it will expand the portfolio with product innovations, partnerships and collaborations to bring value-added services to its customer base.
"This year's NTEA Work Truck Show marks a significant date in the company's new business strategy, " said Brian Nadel, CEO of The Reading group. "Many of the structural changes that we've made over the course of the last year are taking hold. Between expanded products, top industry talent, a renewed focus on strengthening customer and partner relationships, as well as streamlining our distribution systems, we arrive at NTEA a stronger company poised to capitalize on new market opportunities."
