The Red Bull LAN Makes Its Way to New York City for the Gaming Industry's Most Exclusive Training Camp
Three Professional Halo: Reach Teams will Train at Red Bull Space in an Innovative Gaming Environment
NEW YORK, May 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The gaming industry's most sought after performance training camp for professional gamers returns in 2011 after the last Red Bull LAN in Santa Monica brought in more than 100,000 total views over its three days of live streaming. The camp will bring together three of North America's top professional Halo: Reach teams from June 24 – June 26 for the first time in New York. The revered competitors will practice at the Red Bull Space tucked away in Soho and participate in live game play on a local area network to simulate a tournament-style environment. The venue will be transformed into a Halo player's dream training facility. With 37 monitors, virtual mock ups of game maps, and a room dedicated to reviewing game play – each invited team will have ample access to tools that will help advance their performance and strengthen their overall strategy.
STILL #WINNING
Since the first Red Bull LAN last summer, Red Bull's professional gaming roster has gone from a solo act to a full team line-up. Joining our veteran and three time national championship winner, Dave "Walshy" Walsh, are Ian "Enable" Wyatt, Mike "Flamesword" Chaves, Clete "Assault" LoRusso, and Aaron "Ace" Elam. The team took second place at the league's 2010 national finals and first at the 2011 series kick off event in Dallas – both accomplishments earned after attending their first Red Bull LAN and achieving their wings! "The Red Bull LAN helped us more than any other," says Flamesword. "We're excited for the one in New York because we know it's going to be the best training facility of any LAN we've been a part of."
WATCH THIS!
The Red Bull LAN will be streamed live from the venue for five hours each day on RedBullUSA.com. The broadcast will give gamers and fans a floor seat to all of the action including live commentary covering each game series, interviews with the gamers, and a chat feature that will allow viewers to interact with the players and each other. Imagine being able to interact with Reggie Bush while he's taking a breather at halftime – it's like that for game culture.
From the moment the teams arrive in New York, they'll be on a strict regimen completely taken away from the distractions of their daily lives. The teams will spend 12 hours each day at Red Bull Space eating, breathing, and living the game in an effort to hone their skills and push their talent to its zenith.
