NEW YORK, Oct. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Until October 26th, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia, supermodel philanthropist Petra Nemcova, luxury clothing designer Ralph Rucci, successful businesswoman Georgette Mosbacher, renowned interior designer Geoffrey Bradfield, the esteemed sex therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer, fashion-forward clothing designer Julie Vacca, celebrated artist Josee Nadeau and New York Times bestseller Tea Obreht are all part of Lifeline New York Humanitarian Organization's online auction (www.charitybuzz.com). It is in aid of children without parents, and other projects benefitting the victims from the manmade disaster—the conflict in Serbia.
Cecily West, Executive Director of Lifeline New York, explains the importance of this initiative: "While the new democratic government is working vigorously to improve the situation, years of turmoil have left the social and medical infrastructure shattered. Children and other defenseless people are still in need of basic medical supplies, food, clothing and other necessities."
To achieve its mission, Lifeline New York works with the HRH Crown Princess Katherine Humanitarian Foundation in Belgrade, which follows the principle of its founder who believes "we work for the benefit of all those in need, regardless of ethnicity or religion since we believe there are no borders in suffering." One of their key programs is being "the parent" to orphans by addressing their physical, emotional, medical, recreational and educational needs. In this role, the organizations are focused on unleashing the potential of these children and helping to provide them with a brighter future.
