The School District of Palm Beach County Names Voyager/Sopris Learning Programs as Finalists in Florida's Comprehensive Intervention Reading Adoption

DALLAS, Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Voyager/Sopris Learning announced today that The School District of Palm Beach County named two of its programs, Passport Reading Journeys® with Edplicity and LANGUAGE!® The Comprehensive Literacy Curriculum: 4^th Edition as finalists in the 6-12 Comprehensive Intervention Reading Program (CIRP) category of Florida's 6-12 Comprehensive Literacy Intervention Adoption.

Florida's 2013-2014 Reading/Language Arts Adoption focuses on choosing the most effective instructional materials for raising student achievement in grades 6-12. Each district evaluates the programs against a predetermined set of criteria identified by the Florida Department of Education. Once adopted, the effective date of the contract is from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2019.

The School District of Palm Beach County has named the following Voyager/Sopris Learning programs as category finalists in the 2013-2014 Secondary Reading Adoption:
Reading/Language Arts Grades 6-8: Comprehensive Intervention Reading Program
     -     Passport Reading Journeys with Edplicity
Reading/Language Arts Grades 9-12: Comprehensive Intervention Reading Program
     -     LANGUAGE! 4^th Edition, Passport Reading Journeys with Edplicity

Both programs meet the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
