National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day takes place on October 15, 2014, during National School Lunch Week, and is supported by the School Nutrition Association and the Whole Kids Foundation.

National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day is a grassroots effort to bring families together with schools to share a lunchtime meal. For parents across the country, this is a day to visit their children's schools, have lunch with them in the cafeteria, learn more about what goes into serving a healthy lunch, and talk to kids about how eating well can help them stay healthy and strong. For schools, the event allows them to showcase their nutritious meals and give parents more information about lunchtime, from what goes into serving healthy meals to what the daily lunch experience is like to what changes have been made to the menu.
