The Security Traders Association, "STA" is pleased to announce the STA Women in Finance Task Force

NEW YORK, June 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The STA announced the formation of the STA Women in Finance Task Force, "STA WIF".

"Studies have shown that women in financial services comprise 54% of the work force, but only 16% of senior executives. It appears clear to the STA and others that there is a need for career development specific for women in our industry," said Jim Toes, STA President & CEO. "To help address this, the STA organization has decided to assemble a task force of industry leaders who will assist in the design of a comprehensive strategy for a newly created STA initiative which in the short-term will be titled; STA Women in Finance ("STA WIF"). The primary goals of STA WIF are to provide career development and networking opportunities geared towards women employed in the financial services industry. The task force will also seek opportunities to engage on public policy issues as well."

A final report by STA WIF will be presented and voted upon at the September 21^st STA Board of Governors meeting.
