The "Sexiest power woman of all time" Nadja Atwal poses for PETA

NEW YORK, Feb. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In January 2013 a top US lifestyle magazine named Nadja Atwal the "Sexiest Power Woman of all Time," topping celebrities like Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum and Ivanka Trump. The German born beauty used to visit zoos until she was confronted with what she calls "devastating facts." PETA states, "The living conditions at these attractions are often dismal, with animals confined to tiny, filthy, barren enclosures, but even the best artificial environments can't come close to matching the space, diversity, and freedom that animals have in their natural habitats. This deprivation—combined with relentless boredom, loneliness, and sometimes even abuse from the people who are supposed to be caring for them—causes many captive animals to literally lose their minds."

PETA points out that gregarious animals are mostly kept alone or at best, with couples. Natural instincts and needs, social interaction, hunting instincts or natural mating habits are being ignored, since Zoos breed and feed with a plan in mind.

Atwal who is married to a professor for genetic cancer research and is mother of a one year old son states, "I travel across the world, am the captain of my time, can live out my dreams and needs, live a free life. The life of animals in zoos is unnatural and imposed on them - there is no justification for it."

Since Atwal received her new title in January by Viva Glam magazine, she has graced newspaper front pages, posed for fashion magazines and appeared on TV shows. She was recently signed by top European TV channel PRO7 to commentate live from the Oscars this year. Atwal promotes a healthy balance between work and family, and is a hands-on mom while running her own media company.
