The SILA Foundation Announces Non-Profit Status and Available Scholarships
INDIANAPOLIS, July 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The newly created SILA Foundation has received IRS approval for its 501c3-certified status as a non-profit organization.
The SILA Foundation is a non-profit, educational organization created by members of the Securities and Insurance Licensing Association (SILA), a professional association that serves insurance licensing, securities registration and other financial services professionals. The goal of the organization is to provide educational opportunities for financial services industry professionals by offering courses, scholarships and grants.
Attaining 501c3 status means that donations made to the SILA Foundation by companies, organizations and individuals may be entirely tax-deductible. Donations are accepted on the Foundation's website at www.silafoundation.org/get-involved/make-a-donation.
There are eight scholarships currently available: four post-secondary, college-level scholarships targeting course work in areas of insurance, financial services, education and business, as well as four SILA course scholarships. Interested financial services professionals can apply online at www.silafoundation.org.
