VANCOUVER, April 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - Franklins Dealers, a new Canadian Rock band playing the Roxy in Vancouver on May 24^th in the Van Sessions Contest, has just released a song called "The War on Weed" which can be heard at http://cfox.supernova.com/franklinsdealers.

After so much controversy and news about the legalizing of marijuana and the recent story in the Vancouver Province Apr 19^th, the band feels the song is fitting for the times we live in as there are too many people in jail for marijuana in the USA. Both Canada and the USA need the taxes to help with medical systems and education. The legalization will also play a huge role in creating the proper protocols needed for the production of marijuana for the safety of the people that do smoke or use it medically or recreationally.

"I was inspired to co-write the song with Dean when I was in San Francisco giving a speech at a very large marijuana conference. I met a kid, 29 years old, that just got out of jail and had been there for 9 years for possession. His life was ruined and he has lost some of the best years of his life and is now labelled as a felon criminal by the USA government," says Nick Brusatore, singer/songwriter. "I watched my father die of cancer and marijuana was the only thing that gave him peace to be able to eat and live happily until his final passing.
