DETROIT, Nov. 17, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- There's no place like home for the holidays and The Whitney, Detroit's iconic restaurant in a Woodward Avenue mansion, is getting set to be the holiday home away from home for metro Detroiters.
With twinkling white lights and a 16-foot Christmas tree greeting visitors from Woodward Avenue, a warm fire, colorful decorations and holiday music welcoming them into the Great Hall, and mouth watering aromas and flavors to tempt their taste buds, The Whitney will once again be all dressed up and ready to be metro Detroit's first choice for holiday entertaining.
But, November and December are booking up fast, so The Whitney advises guests to make their reservations soon if they want to assure getting what they want when they want it. With its variety of rooms on three floors, The Whitney can offer private rooms for anywhere from eight to 50 guests or can make the entire house available for as many as 300 guests for seated dining and up to 700 for cocktail parties and receptions.
The Whitney will host its popular Santa Claus brunches every Sunday in December as well as Saturday December 11 and 18 from 11 am to 3 pm. Kids ten and under eat free. The Whitney will also host a gala New Year's Eve celebration with seatings at 6:30 pm and 9 pm for dinner and a New Year's Eve celebration in the Ghostbar from 10 pm to 3 am.
