The Wildwoods' Celebration of Heroes Memorial Weekend Festival Features Benefit Concert with All-Star Entertainment Line-Up

WILDWOODS, N.J., May 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wildwoods, NJ, will host the first-ever Celebration of Heroes Festival – a tribute to America's military servicemen and women, veterans, first responders, and families, Friday, May 25 - Sunday, May 27.

Highlighting the weekend-long event is the Celebration of Heroes Benefit Concert inside the Wildwoods Convention Center's Oceanfront Arena. This homage to the USO Variety Shows hosted by comedian Bob Hope will take place on Sunday, May 27 at 8 p.m. and will feature former SNL Star Joe Piscopo; country singer Lee Greenwood; Michael Longoria of Broadway's Jersey Boys; Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler; and American Idol finalists Michael Sarver & Haley Scarnato.

Tickets for the Celebration of Heroes Benefit Concert are available at www.ticketmaster.com and are $25-$50.

The Wildwoods Celebration of Heroes Beach Festival will also include:

• U.S.Coast Guard Recruit Graduation Ceremony – Friday, May 25, 11 a.m.
• Weekend Kick-Off Veterans Motorcycle Caravan, Memorial Sunset Ceremony and Fireworks Display – Friday, May 25, 7 p.m.
• Ford "Family Beach Games" & Celebrity Beach Action – Saturday, May 26, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
• "Taste of Wildwoods" Food & Music Festival – Saturday, May 26, noon-9 p.m. and Sunday, May 27, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Military Procession, Remembrance Ceremony & Air Force "Fly Over" – Sunday, May 27, 1 p.m.
• COH Benefit Concert – Sunday, May 27, 8 p.m.

Weekend-long festivities also include the Comcast Connect Military Call Center & Mail Call where family, friends and attendees can speak live with active duty troops based in Afghanistan via Skype Video on Saturday and Sunday from noon-2 p.m. A mail call will also be operated on-site by the Philadelphia National Constitution Center for attendees interested in mailing a postcard to overseas troops.

An Interactive Military Display Area will also be setup throughout Memorial Day Weekend offering a chance to experience some of the U.S. Armed Forces' military technology, as well as the opportunity to interact with active duty troops, officers and service organization volunteers.
