The Wish Factory Inc. Signs Licensing Deal to Produce Boy Band 1D Merchandise

MONTCLAIR, N.J., Aug. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wish Factory Inc., the on-trend children's consumer products company and leader in the toy and licensing industries, has been named a licensee for the world's hottest boy band 1D, through a strategic licensing agreement with Global Merchandising Services.

The Wish Factory will manufacture the largest and broadest offering of 1D licensed novelties and accessories for built-up consumer demand with initial rollout in September 2012, all within an affordable price range of $5-$15.  The licensing deal includes fashionable wristbands, 3D clip-ons, key chains, dog tags, dioramas and more. The Wish Factory will also be producing a collection of 1D licensed products for the company's exclusive Pop Grrl brand, featuring hip and trendy fashion-forward must haves for girls' everyday self expression.

1D rose to fame after competing on Britain's The X Factor.  The band skyrocketed to top of the charts with hits such as "What Makes You Beautiful," "Gotta Be You" and "One Thing."  Likened as a modern day "British Invasion," 1D has become a worldwide phenomenon with an equally spanning fan base.  The band made history when their debut album Up All Night entered the US Billboard 200 chart at #1 with over 176,000 copies sold making them the first British group ever to debut at #1 in the US with their debut album release.  Their debut single "What Makes You Beautiful" has recently been certified platinum for sales in excess of 1,000,000.  The group has a fan base of more than 4.7 million Facebook fans and 3.1 million Twitter followers.  The group's 2013 North American tour is sold out.
