The World's First Bid-to-Buy Auction Site Dedicated to Timepiece Aficionados, Hautebid.com, Will Launch on Wednesday, October 10, 2018
A Celebrity Brand Ambassador Will Be Announced in Time for the Holiday Season
NEW YORK, Oct. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- It was announced today that the first bid-to-buy auction site for certified watches, called Hautebid.com, will officially launch on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 9pm EST. The site is the brainchild of 30-year TV-shopping veteran, Marvin Segel and UX / design-thinking strategist and product-driven entrepreneur Domenick Propati. Hautebid.com will be sponsored by TalkAboutWatches.com – the 'First 21st Century Shopping Network.'
Hautebid.com [pronounced HOATBID] is guaranteed to entice and excite watch aficionados and lovers of retail around the country. Each week, the site will feature a different and unique timepiece—from Stürhling, Invicta, Alexander, Omega, and Breitling to IWC, Rolex, Hublot, Roger Dubuis, and Arnold & Son, just to name a few. After the launch, and starting on every Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST, customers can bid for a chance to acquire the featured timepiece for pennies on the dollar.
To participate, customers sign up and purchase one of three bid packages, each with a different value. Once the auction timer begins, customers have 10 seconds to use their bids. When the timer ends, the final bidder can purchase the watch for the final auction price. Initially no watch will have a reserve! The final auction price starts at $0.00 and increases by $.01 for every bid placed. Each bid returns the countdown timer to its original position, giving every customer an equal chance to take home a statement timepiece.
Hautebid.com co-founder Marvin Segel is part of a family of media innovators. The son of Joseph Segel, the man who founded QVC (Bradley Cooper played Joe Segel in the movie, "Joy"), Marvin Segel was a business developer and TV Shopping guest host for fifteen years, introducing some of the most innovative watches in the nationally popular watch segments on ShopNBC (now known as Evine). Segel's business partner, Domenick Propati, is a notable strategic designer, collaborating at The White House, Google, Citi Group, American Express, Estee Lauder, Apple, and NASA, to name a few. He has also lectured at Wharton, Cornell, Stanford—and developed teaching courses for General Assembly and NYU, amongst more.
Says Marvin Segel, "Dom and I are a true 'marriage of science meets art.' Dom's human-centered approach to product design and management combined with my passion for marketing and video/online retail are the perfect match for bringing a platform like HauteBid to life." Domenick Propati adds, "Marv and I make a perfect team because we both share a deep passion for the design and love of watches. Marv and I truly hope that the user experience will be unprecedented."
Shortly after the launch, and just in time for the holiday shopping season, a celebrity brand ambassador will be announced. For more information, please click onto www.Hautebid.com.
