WASHINGTON, Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- THEALUMRUN™, the premier national road race series focused on college and university alumni, students and sports fans, will launch its 2015 schedule with events in Washington, D.C., March 27-29, 2015.
"Washington, D.C., was the obvious choice for THEALUMRUN™'s inaugural race," said Craig Dixon, co-founder of THEALUMRUN™. "In addition to being our hometown and the headquarters of St. James Racing, the D.C. area is also home to hundreds of thousands of alumni from the country's best colleges and universities."
THEALUMRUN™ race day experience combines exciting 5K and 10K races with a festive post-race hospitality, tailgating and wellness experience. THEALUMRUN™ Weekend also includes a reunion-style kickoff party and community service activity that bring the homecoming experience to the cities where alumni live and work.

The schedule for Washington, D.C., includes:
Friday, March 27: THEALUMRUN™ Reunion Party features an evening of music, dancing and fun with fellow alumni, alumni from rival universities and friends.
Saturday, March 28: THEALUMRUN™ Day of Service provides participants with an opportunity to have a positive impact on the host city by volunteering with charitable organizations.
Sunday, March 29: Runners will enjoy a timed 5K and 10K race through downtown Washington, D.C., offering great views of the nation's capital. The Future Alumni 1K Fun Run™ is the biggest pep rally on the planet, giving young fans and families a chance to show their school spirit in a fun atmosphere featuring school flags, colors and all of the energy of a pre-game rally.
After the race, THEALUMRUN™ Festival extends the fun by featuring a great food and beverage experience, music in the University Quad and health, fitness and wellness experiences in the Wellness Village. The University Quad, modeled on the quads, lawns and yards of great universities around the world, is where university communities can gather to enjoy food, beverages and music with friends, family and fellow alumni. The Wellness Village features fun group fitness activities like Zumba and Boot Camps, quality wellness experiences like yoga and massage, health screenings, educational content and a Kids Zone with face painting.
