REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Dec. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bay Area chapter of There With Care has honored Freedom Financial Network (FFN) with its 2017 Inspiration Award.
This year marks the first time the nonprofit organization has presented the award to a business, according to Sara Alexander, executive director of There With Care of the Bay Area.
"We saw 2017, our fifth year of service to the Bay Area, as an opportunity to highlight the importance of corporate sponsorship," Alexander says. "Companies such as Freedom Financial Network bring a remarkable commitment to There With Care. Our partnership with FFN has opened up many paths for companies and their employees to work together, helping families in need."
There With Care supports families during the critical phase of a medical crisis, with a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services to ease the burden of day-to-day obligations. The organization serves families referred by social workers at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco. Founded in 2012, the Bay Area chapter of There With Care has helped more than 1,000 families.
"There With Care does whatever it takes to allow parents time to focus on what is most important – their families," says Jeff Staley, managing partner of Freedom Financial Network. "This important mission is the reason behind FFN's work with the organization since 2013."
Since There With Care's inception, FFN employees have staffed volunteer events and helped stock food for families in the organization's new warehouse. The company has served as a sponsor for the last three years, including as presenting sponsor in 2017.
"The opportunity to help There With Care means a great deal to FFN," says Staley. "The mission of There With Care aligns directly with our company's mission to help people improve their lives. If we can, in some small way, help make life easier for families dealing with a difficult situation – especially medical crises, which are both financially costly and emotionally heart-wrenching – we can have a positive impact."
"Freedom Financial Network has grown with There With Care, demonstrating true community leadership in its work and commitment," adds Alexander. "We see FFN's involvement as a model for how businesses can have a direct and meaningful impact on people in their community."
