
Third Edition of "Data Mining for Business Analytics" Published
ARLINGTON, Va., May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- This week the third edition of "Data Mining for Business Analytics" was published by Wiley. This book, which first came out in 2006, is the leading data mining text in the business school and business analyst field, featuring a rich set of realistic data, cases and problems. It has been translated into Korean, and a South Asian English edition is also available. The third edition adds material on social networks, text mining, recommender systems, ensembles and uplift models. The name of the book has also changed, replacing "business intelligence" with "business analytics." The book features the use of Frontline's XLMiner software, which is available on the cloud at XLMiner.com and also as an Excel add-in. The lead author is Galit Shmueli, Distinguished Professor at National Tsing Hua University's Institute of Service Science (Taiwan). The co-authors are Peter Bruce, Founder and President of the Institute for Statistics Education at Statistics.com, and Nitin Patel, Chairman and co-Founder of Cytel, Inc., the leader in the advanced design and analysis of clinical trials.
