Third Fueling Your Day With Love Campaign Provides $24,000 Donation From Equitable Gas Company To Ronald McDonald House Charities Of Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- For the third year in a row, Equitable Gas Company partnered with local McDonald's restaurants and Renda Broadcasting for the Fueling Your Day With Love Campaign as part of its efforts to improve the well-being of children in the communities it serves.
Today, Equitable Gas donated $24,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh to assist families seeking medical care for their children in Pittsburgh. Accepting the check on behalf of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh was Board President Mark Giaquinto and Board Member Ron Galiano.
Over the last three years, Equitable Gas has donated $65,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh through the Fueling Your Day With Love Campaign. This year's Fueling Your Day With Love Campaign began on March 18 and ran through April 30. For the campaign, Equitable Gas pledged to donate two cents per cup of Premium Roast Drip Coffee sold at local western Pennsylvania McDonald's restaurants during the time period.
Professional hockey player Matt Cooke, who volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh, served as campaign spokesman for the effort and helped inspire the goal for the campaign. Since Mr. Cooke wore jersey number 24 while playing hockey in Pittsburgh, the campaign's goal was for neighborhood McDonald's restaurants in western Pennsylvania to sell 1.2 million cups of McDonald's Premium Roast Drip Coffee and Equitable Gas would donate $24,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh.
