Thirteenth Annual College Colors Day To Unite Fans As Excitement Builds For Football Season
Fans across the country have a chance to win all-expenses paid trip to the College Football Playoff National Championship
ATLANTA, Aug. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The sounds and smells of tailgate parties, drumlines echoing from pep rallies and stadiums, and fans of all ages gathering in cities nationwide to show their school pride in new gear signal one thing: college football season is here.
On Friday, September 1, the 13th annual College Colors Day will culminate months of fans' excitement for the new season, as students, alumni and fans come together to celebrate their favorite school by sporting new college gear. College Colors Day, an annual celebration dedicated to promoting the traditions and spirit that embody the college experience, is celebrated by thousands of organizations, retailers, classrooms and millions of individuals who don their team colors and share their school spirit with friends and colleagues.
Leading up to College Colors Day, fans can show off their school pride by using college-branded Facebook frames, Snapchat filters, an Instagram style quiz and Twitter hashtags to tell the world about their school fandom. This year's theme, "United We Fan," highlights the emotional connection fans have to their school and fellow fans when they see each other wearing the same name and colors from locations all across the country. By sharing photos and stories of school spirit across social media using #UnitedWeFan and #CollegeColors throughout the month of August, fans will have the chance to win new college gear.
“No other fanbase displays its passion and loyalty quite like college sports fans and we are so excited to celebrate with them throughout the year,” said Nicole Armentrout, Vice President, Marketing at IMG College Licensing. “College Colors Day is the perfect occasion for fans to come together and show pride in their school and love for the game.”
Fans can visit www.CollegeColorsDay.com for college gear giveaways and a chance to win prizes including watches, tailgate games, hats and apparel. Through the website, fans will also have a chance to register for the chance to win one of two all-expenses-paid trips to the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship in Atlanta, Georgia. The tickets to the game will be provided by CFP and its charitable arm, the College Football Playoff Foundation. The primary focus of the Foundation is teachers, expressed through Extra Yard for Teachers cause brand. The mission of Extra Yard for Teachers is to elevate the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering quality teachers.
Starting in late August, fans will be also able to add a custom school frame to their Facebook profile by visiting participating institutions’ official athletic pages. Additionally, fans can watch for professional athletes, models, broadcast hosts, music artists and other influencers sharing their own school spirit through special College Colors Day social media posts.
