Thorp Reed Welcomes Three New Attorneys

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP (Thorp Reed) is pleased to announce the addition of three new attorneys to the Firm: David H. Cook, Associate in the Commercial & Corporate Litigation Practice Group; Sarah J. Miley, Associate in the Labor & Employment Practice Group; and Jacques L. Moye, Sr., Associate in the General Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group.

Cook joins Thorp Reed's Litigation Group, where he focuses his practice on sports law, white collar criminal defense, complex civil litigation, appellate matters and corporate law. His sports law practice includes representation of athletes and agents in contract and fee disputes. In  his white collar criminal practice, he assists clients with state and federal law issues, focusing on appellate and post-conviction matters. Cook also represents small to medium size companies in a variety of business matters. He graduated first in his class, summa cum laude, from Duquesne University School of Law. He received his M.A. in history from Boston College, passing his doctoral examinations with distinction, and earned his B.A. from Allegheny College.

As a member of the Firm's Labor & Employment Law Practice Group, Miley's practice will involve a wide variety of employment and labor related issues, including labor arbitration, employment litigation and compliance issues. She currently represents management in labor and employment matters and has defended employers against claims of sexual harassment, race, age, sex, national origin and disability discrimination. Miley will also focus upon unfair competition litigation, including breach of non-competition and confidentiality agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of fiduciary duty. She received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Florida.

An addition to Thorp Reed's General Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group, Moye focuses on mergers and acquisitions, securities and general corporate matters. He counsels clients on a myriad of corporate matters, from complex merger and acquisition deals to joint venture and private equity deals private and public companies of all sizes. Moye also advises in the area of public offerings of a variety of structured debt and derivative securities, including equity-linked, index-linked and credit-lined products. Moye is a certified public accountant, enabling him to add significant value and business insight to every transaction. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University and his B.A./B.S. from Slippery Rock University.
