Those Born Around The Holidays Rarely Get Birthday Parties, Comedian Starts Free Birthday Party Movement For The Under-Celebrated
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 5:30-7:00 PM, San Francisco Comedian Liz Grant will host a free birthday party for anyone born around the holidays and their friends at The Punch Line Comedy Club.

Both of her ex-husbands were born around Christmas and she could never get the family together for even a simple birthday party (this was not the reason for the divorces).
Grant spearheaded the tongue-in-cheek group, Equal Birthdays Despite The Holidays, and anointed local improviser Stacy Beckley as the spokeswoman. Beckley will hold a press conference at 6:30 PM on stage at The Punch Line. The press conference will be quick; and fun.
Beckley will deliver the group's manifesto as an advocate for "All Sagittarians and Capricorns whom previously have had no voice about their years of neglect and pain."
The group has some very simple suggestions for friends and family members of those born pretty much from Thanksgiving through the first few weeks of the New Year. "While we're all thankful for any gift, it is very frustrating to receive the 'combo gift' or the 'Two For One Gift'." (meaning the gift has been combined for both their birthday and Christmas).
"Separating the birthday from any other celebrations, in any small way, would be appreciated. We have one member who was asked by her own mother to wrap her own birthday present, in Christmas paper!"
Another member (who wishes to remain anonymous) wants the public to know "It's difficult to be born around Jesus' birthday because of harsh comparisons. My parents would make comments like 'Jesus was walking on water by your age'."
Grant will employ traditional birthday methodologies such as cake and balloons while DJ MykeOne throws down the jams (and zero Christmas songs). She plans to continue the annual birthday celebration and envisions leaders across the country providing the same service in their communities.
