Three Dallas Women Business Leaders Named Inspiring Texas Women

DALLAS, Nov. 24, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Three Dallas-area women business leaders have been named recipients of the Inspiring Texas Women award from the Women's Business Initiative of Sterling Bank.

The Inspiring Texas Women honorees are:

• Dr. Sandra Bond Chapman, Founder and Chief Director, Center for BrainHealth® and Distinguished Professor, The University of Texas at Dallas;
• Valerie Freeman, founder and chief executive officer of Imprimis Group; and
• Helma Mazon, executive vice president of Mazon Associates, Inc.

These deserving women and 18 additional nominees were honored at a Dallas luncheon on November 19.  Chapman was nominated for mentoring and encouraging young female neuroscientists.  Freeman received the award for inspiring women to achieve business and personal goals.  Mazon was recognized for being a pillar in her community.  

The Inspiring Texas Women award celebrates the 10th anniversary of Sterling's Women's Business Initiative, which provides resources specifically designed for women-owned business owners and female executives to create added value to their relationships with Sterling Bank. The three Dallas awardees are among the 10 women who will be recognized with the award.  Four Houston women received awards in late October and three San Antonio honorees will be recognized on December 1.
