Threshold Group Appoints Year Up Executive Director Lisa Chin to Board of Directors

SEATTLE, Dec. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Threshold Group, a leading family-owned wealth management firm and family office, is pleased to announce that Lisa Chin will join Threshold's Board of Directors. Chin, currently founding Executive Director of Year Up Puget Sound, is an experienced leader for nonprofit organizations and business groups.

Threshold Group, an independent wealth advisor for families who want to make a difference for future generations, is governed by a board comprised of two Russell family members and three independent appointees. Chin fills a board seat vacated by Ashbridge Investment Management Founder, Charles B. Grace, Jr., whose term ends this year.

Lisa Chin founded Year Up Puget Sound, a one-year, intensive training program that provides low-income young adults with a combination of hands-on skill development, college credits, and corporate internships. She has led Year Up Puget Sound from the time it opened its doors to the first 27 students to growing to a staff of 35 that serves 160 students each year. Previously, Chin served as the Executive Director of Jubilee Women's Center in Seattle, provider of transitional housing for homeless women. She has also been a partner with Social Venture Partners for more than 10 years, including serving as board chair and participating in the K-12 Granting Committee and the Portfolio Granting Committee. In the corporate world, Chin worked for over 20 years in program management, most recently for Amazon.com. She holds a bachelor's degree from Wellesley College and a Ph.D. from the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies.
