THUMBZZ.com Celebrates New Microjob Site Launch And New Year 2014 In Times Square

MANHATTAN, N.Y., Dec. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Thumbzz.com founders will celebrate the New Year with four of its microjob website users tossing up cash in a Times Square advertisement. The advertisement photo was given the nickname, "Money Toss 2014", by a follower on the Thumbzz's Facebook page. It earned the most votes amongst the three photos chosen that featured all four Thumbzzers. It is the first in a line of photos that will grace the billboard in Times Square over the next few months as Thumbzz.com introduces itself to the microjobbing community.

"We are beyond excited for the new year!", says Lisa Johnverrell, the site's creative director. "Thumbzz.com is the first website to offer instant access to microjobs to its users just by signing up. The photo was taken by Lucas Ross, an Atlanta photographer during a two-hour photoshoot last August. The Thumbzzers were doing several microjob campaigns that can be found on the Thumbzz.com website, including "Hold a Thumbzz Sign", "Do a Thumbzz Tack" and "Wear a Thumbzz T'shirt". They were each paid $60.00 for doing twelve microjob campaigns in two hours. The money earned are the $20 dollar bills seen in the photo.

After each money photo take, Johnverrell joked. "I told them to make sure they found all the money after they made each toss. We didn't have any problems with that."

Founded by a nontraditional arts and sciences student at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia, Thumbzz.com successfully launched in November 2013. The website provides small term social media marketing and creative advertising jobs, called "microjobs", to the the general public, but mostly to college students seeking extra income.
