SAN DIEGO, Jan. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tia Quinn, CEO and Founder of BOOST Collaborative received an award Wednesday for Most Admired CEO in the Small Education category.  The 8th Annual San Diego Business Journal Most Admired CEO Awards recognized CEOs in the San Diego community for their contributions to the San Diego County business community.

Quinn was among more than 130 finalists and received this achievement for the first time.

"What an honor to be selected as Most Admired CEO by San Diego Business Journal," Quinn said. "I am humbled to be included in this list of San Diego change-makers. Our team is grateful to work collaboratively with exceptional organizations in our community to make a difference. We will continue to do work worthy of this recognition by the San Diego Business Journal."

BOOST Collaborative has maintained continuous growth since its inception in 2007, and now the BOOST Conference, one of the many projects of BOOST Collaborative, had its largest audience in 2014 with more than 2,100 global out-of-school time youth educators and professionals in attendance.

A project called MARS (Music, Arts, Rhythm, Social Change) started in 2014 by Quinn to bring together artists, musicians, filmmakers, speakers, organizations, and individuals promoting social change and civic responsibility locally and globally to inspire and create change.

Quinn continuously researches ways to enrich her company and uses a weekly BOOST Power Hour to train her staff on customer service, event planning, professional development, and networking.  Another project to enhance company culture in the office is the BOOST Culture Club, which consists of company morale events twice a month including yoga classes, massages, volunteering in the community, potlucks and more.

Tia Quinn fell in love with after school programs in 1992 while working in Hartford, CT as an art teacher. By providing after school programs with resources and quality training opportunities, BOOST Collaborative has made a global impact on the possibilities of youth development.
