TiqIQ and The Atlanta Journal Constitution Tip Off March Madness® Final Four by Launching "AJC Tickets"
Locally-Focused Ticket Commerce Platform Now Available at AJC.com
ATLANTA, April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TiqIQ, the leading event ticket platform, and The Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC), today announced the launch of AJC Tickets, a locally-focused ticket commerce platform now available at AJC.com. AJC Tickets is specifically designed to help local buyers and sellers conduct ticket transactions for Atlanta-based live events. The collaboration between the two companies will also serve to diversify AJC's revenue stream, and further drive the newspaper's online user engagement.
Today's announcement coincides with the 75th Annual NCAA's March Madness® men's basketball tournament, which will conclude with the first Final Four round in Atlanta since 2002 on April 6th and 8th. With a current average secondary market price of $600 for those games, this year's tournament is shaping up to be the most expensive Final Four in the last three years, making the ability to buy and sell tickets with ease even timelier.
AJC Tickets will feature all local sellers available through TiqIQ's platform, including Primesport, the Official Ticket Exchange of the NCAA Tournament, as well as other secondary sources like TicketsNow, eBay and TicketCity. TiqIQ also works with primary sellers including Ticketmaster, Ticketfly, and Veritix.
"We're excited to provide our readers with a definitive local resource for finding the best deals for any event in Atlanta, and there's no better event to start with than this men's basketball tournament," said Katie Tankersley, Manager at AJC.com.
TiqIQ's platform will keep AJC.com readers updated on local event price trends and data through real-time data widgets on relevant sections of the site as well as via social media. AJC and TiqIQ are also rolling out a series of editorial features that will analyze the impact of major wins and losses on price trends for the tournament. AJCTickets will also kick off March Madness® with an RSVP contest, during which users who share their game status as 'Going,' 'Maybe Going' or 'Watching' will be entered to win a pair of tickets to the championship game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on April 8th.
"We're excited to add Cox Media and The Atlanta Journal Constitution to our roster of forward-looking media partners who are interested in providing their readers with the latest tools and data to simplify the process of buying and selling tickets to live events," said Jesse Lawrence, CEO and Founder of TiqIQ.
In addition to all the buying options, AJC tickets will give users access to TiqIQ's new no-fee selling service, SellerDirect. Using SellerDirect, fans can list tickets for any local event and have them featured on AJC.com as well as across the TiqIQ network.
