Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition Prepares to Set Sail from New York City

(Nasdaq: PRXI), in association with Running Subway Productions, LLC, today announced the final weeks of the New York City showing of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at the Discovery Times Square Exposition (www.DiscoveryTSX.com). After telling the most famous and beloved story of the 20th century to hundreds of thousands of visitors since opening in June 2009, the 12,000 square-foot blockbuster Exhibition will set sail on February 28, 2010.

Throughout its stay in NYC, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition delivered countless journeys back in time, allowing visitors to relive the powerful story of Titanic's fateful voyage.  With just a few weeks before closing, New York City locals and tourists alike still have the opportunity to connect with the Ship's passengers and crew through personal stories and artifacts, many on of which are on display for the first time since recovery from the ocean floor 12,500 feet below the sea's surface. As they enter the exhibition, attendees assume the identity of a real Titanic passenger and then move through a series of dramatic galleries filled with many never-before-seen artifacts recovered from the ocean floor.

Highlights of the Exhibition, which has been seen by more than 22 million people worldwide, include a scaled recreation of the Grand Staircase, replicas of first- and third-class cabins, clothing and personal effects of passengers, and undisturbed bottles filled with champagne from the Ship. Additionally, the Exhibition displays a number of artifacts that explain and explore the Ship's construction, life on board, and the ill-fated night of the sinking, as well as recent artifact rescue efforts. The artifacts in the Exhibition are preserved through a painstaking process which begins with a 12 hour dive to the Titanic wreck site. Once an artifact is recovered, it must undergo conservation following carefully designed processes to remove rust and salt deposits. After a period of six months to two years, artifacts can be conserved using treatments that are compatible with each artifact's construction materials.

Meet Molly Brown Special Event

"Keep rowing or I'll throw you all overboard!" Those are the immortal words of Mrs. J. J. "Molly" Brown.  Meet the unsinkable Molly Brown during the month of February at Discovery Times Square Exposition and hear the story of Titanic's fateful sinking in her own words.  Molly Brown was one the most colorful characters of the 20th Century and the night of April 14, 1912 was just the tip of the iceberg. 

At first blush, Molly seems like a precursor to today's most photographed heiresses Ivanka Trump, Amanda Hearst and Paris Hilton - famous for being famous - but in reality she was no mere debutante. One of the leading suffragettes of her day, Molly twice ran for public office and was an early leader in the battle for women's rights.  In 1914 Molly organized a group of "martially inclined women" ready to "shoulder the rifle and fight side by side with the men".   She mediated a coal miners strike, and fought for better working conditions through her association with the Garment Workers' Union and the Women's Peace association and relief corps. She was famously "ready with her purse" for any woman in need of help.

Molly Brown will be in the Titanic galleries ready to share her stories from 2pm to 4pm and again from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, February 10, 17, and 24.  "Meet Molly Brown" is free with admission to Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition.
