TLC, which ranked 23rd in Building Design & Construction's "Engineering Giants for 2014," specializes in sustainable design with diverse experience across multiple market segments and building types. TLC has achieved LEED certification of more than 270 projects totaling over 26 million square feet of space in the United States and Internationally.
"New Orleans has the potential to be a major market for TLC, and this is an excellent time to open an office and establish some roots," said Jason Heffelmire, TLC's Gulf Coast Regional Director. "The timing is right due to the level of construction activity that is currently intensifying, partially tied to Mayor Mitch Landrieu's promise to finish a number of public works projects by 2018, the city's tricentennial."
TLC is developing relationships with commercial real estate professionals, architects, developers and contractors to pursue a wide array of projects in various market segments. In its work, the firm focuses on resilient and sustainable design, being awarded the honor of "Best Large Engineering Firm" by the U.S. Green Building Council this year.
As TLC's Heather Tank noted in a recent interview with GlobeSt.com: "There is a significant amount of growth happening around the city, and it's in a number of different areas. We feel the city is primed for another renaissance post-Katrina, but one that will be more intentional and will make New Orleans one of the fastest-growing, resilient cities in the nation.''
The company is already looking for expanded office space and is currently recruiting for multiple positions in the New Orleans office.
The New Orleans office marks the 11th location for TLC, which has offices throughout the Southeast, Texas, and Tennessee. The New Orleans office is located at 1615 Poydras St., Suite 900 and can be reached at (504) 777-0040.
