TmaxSoft Inc. Showcases OpenFrame High-Performance Mainframe Rehosting Solution at Gartner Symposium
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Oct. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TmaxSoft, Inc. has specialized in highly-optimized transaction processing software since 1997, developing a line of frameworks and middleware products currently in use by large Enterprises in the U.S. and APAC. Their client list boasts successful deployments at Fortune 100 and Global 500 companies, one of whom will be a featured speaker during the Gartner event.
TmaxSoft announces that it is showcasing its flagship OpenFrame Rehosting Environment during the 2011 Gartner Symposium and ITxpo in Orlando, FL, from October 16 to 20. During this event, thousands of attending CFOs/CIOs and business technology leaders will have access to TmaxSoft executives, to talk about their I.T. legacy infrastructure challenges, and to hear how TmaxSoft is able to remove typical roadblocks to modernization.
"Today, many CIOs look at their existing mainframes as the ‘architectural misfits' in their environment, which has otherwise moved on to open systems and standards," says Stephen Malm, TmaxSoft Director of Sales for the Americas. "They want to stop paying exorbitant hardware upgrade and licensing fees to a single captive-market vendor, yet they worry about maintaining the integrity of their precious business code, which continues to serve their company well after decades of investment and refinement."
OpenFrame addresses both of these concerns, presenting a "Proven Path from Mainframes to Open Systems." It provides a comprehensive solution that allows the entire environment to be rehosted to less expensive, more agile infrastructure. This is accomplished through a "lift and shift" methodology that preserves the application code and data, avoiding the risks usually associated with migration and re-engineering efforts. Virtually all of the applications can simply be re-compiled without modification to run in the new environment. Positive ROI is usually reached within 12 to 18 months after roll-out.
TmaxSoft's Engineering Services are utilized to assess the current mainframe environment, to provide expert guidance to the client's project management team, and to actually perform the rehosting effort. The expectations, timelines, milestones and deliverables are all laid out, enabling typical projects to be accomplished within a 12 month period or less. TmaxSoft interfaces with any partners involved (such as Oracle, HP, IBM, Ateras and others), to ensure that projects stay on track.
Kyewjin (KJ) Lee, the U.S. Director of Engineering comments, "TmaxSoft's underlying TMax transaction-optimization engine has been finely-honed during the 14-years that the company has been in existence. It gives us a unique advantage over our competitors in the rehosting and migration space. Because of this, we can consistently deliver better-than-mainframe performance, along with the high levels of reliability and resilience our customers require and expect."
TmaxSoft's Malm contends that, "Our clients enjoy freedom of choice about the future, something they did not have with the mainframe. Most OpenFrame systems become the company's forward-looking environment, resulting in millions to tens-of-millions of dollars in savings over the next few years. There is no expensive re-training effort needed, since thousands of users interact with the new system the same way as they did before. If a client chooses to use those savings to self-fund a further re-engineering effort, they are well-positioned to do so using rapid-deployment SOA platforms such as our ProFrame product."
While at the Gartner Symposium and ITxpo event, TmaxSoft (at Booth #625) will be well-staffed to schedule one-on-one business discussion for those attendees who are currently evaluating their options for modernization, and want to understand what OpenFrame can do for their Enterprise.
