Todd M. McHenry Appointed Executive Vice President - Legal, DTZ

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- DTZ, a UGL Company, has announced the appointment of Todd McHenry as Executive Vice President - Legal, effective September 17, 2012. Mr. McHenry will oversee the world-wide legal activities for DTZ, a leading provider of global property services. As a member of DTZ's global leadership team based in Los Angeles, Mr. McHenry will also play a critical role in the development and implementation of the company's overall governance and risk management practices.    

Mr. McHenry's primary responsibilities will be to develop and lead corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the interests of DTZ globally. He will provide independent counsel on legal and business matters, and manage the delivery of all legal services in a wide range of areas including regulatory compliance, transactions, risk management, employment law and litigation. He will also have direct oversight of the regional legal teams covering the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific property service operations.

Mr. McHenry's twenty-four years of experience most recently included serving as International Group General Counsel for DaVita Inc., where he oversaw all legal support for international expansion, managed the international legal budget, and led the legal team for acquisitions and joint venture deals around the world, including China, Germany, Latin America, Europe, India, Middle East and Southeast Asia. Prior to DaVita, he was the Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Raley's, a $3 billion grocery retailer and distributor, where he was a member of the executive committee, served as the corporate privacy officer, and member of the administrative committee for benefit and pension plans. Mr. McHenry also spent nine years with The Walt Disney Company as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs for Disney Consumer Products, and Senior Vice President, Regional Counsel – Asia Pacific, where he was Disney's senior lawyer for the Asia-Pacific region, overseeing a legal team of 44 based in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Mumbai.

Mr. McHenry earned his BA degree as a music major from Yale University; and his JD from Hastings College of the Law. He studied Japanese at the Kansai University of Foreign Languages, and International Business Transactions at Temple University's Law Program in Japan, where he also served as an adjunct professor of law.  

Mr. McHenry will be based at the DTZ global headquarters in Los Angeles, reporting to Robert Shibuya, Group President.
