Toe-Rific Chocolates Launches Buddy Feet to KICKSTART Fundraising for Down Syndrome Awareness
WALNUT CREEK, Calif., March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of World Down Syndrome Day, March 21st, Toe-Rific Chocolates & Candy announces its new division, Buddy Feet Friends (aka BFF), featuring its new product Buddy Feet. Buddy Feet is their signature chocolate foot but with a special sandal gap toe, a characteristic many people with Down Syndrome have. The cause is near and dear to the company's Director of Operations, Keston Ott-Dahl, who is an author/activist and who infamously petitioned Disney Studios to include characters with Down Syndrome in their animated features, creating worldwide attention.
"My daughter Delaney Skye has Down Syndrome and I want her to know inclusion. If society was aware of what people with Down Syndrome are capable of today, there would be a lot less bullying of these kids who are two and three times more likely to be bullied."
With a strong commitment towards anti-bullying and other causes, Toe-Rifics' philanthropy will not stop with Down Syndrome Awareness. The company has plans for future endeavors to "Step Up" and "Stomp Out" other social issues using their unique foot shaped candies as a way to fundraise and increase awareness.
The founder of Toe-Rific Chocolates & Candy is Dr. Mark Wolpa, a podiatrist who feels that giving back is an essential part of any business.
