Top 100 Worldwide Universities Granted U.S. Patents ranking released by National Academy of Inventors and the Intellectual Property Owners Association

TAMPA, Fla., June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) and the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) today announced the Top 100 Worldwide Universities Granted U.S. Utility Patents in 2013. The list, based on data obtained from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, recognizes the important role patents play in university research.

The top 15 universities on the list include: The University of California System, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University (Beijing), Stanford University, University of Texas, Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), California Institute of Technology, Columbia University, Georgia Tech Research Corp, University of Michigan, University of Illinois, University of South Florida, National Taiwan University, University of Florida Research Foundation, Inc., and National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan).
