Top Industrials Analysts Launch Melius Research LLC

NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Top-ranked multi-industry analyst, Scott Davis, today announced the launch of Melius Research (Melius), an independent equity research boutique focused on the industrial sector. Melius aims to deliver differentiated research that harnesses the extensive cycle experience of the firm's founders and leverages their ability to access and extrapolate new data sources. The launch of Melius is marked by the firm's initiation of aerospace and defense sector coverage, which will be followed by machinery and multi-industry coverage.

Davis serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Melius, where he is also the lead research analyst covering the multi-industry sector. He brings more than 25 years of industrial research experience and has been the #1 ranked Multi-Industry analyst since 2010 according to the annual Institutional Investor All-America Research survey. Davis has been highly ranked since 2004 and was a top-two or -three analyst in packaging in 2001 and 2002. Prior to Melius Research, Davis spent 6 years as a Managing Director and Head of the Global Industrials Research Group at Barclays Plc and 15 years at Morgan Stanley, where he served as a Managing Director and Head of Global Industrials Research.

The institutional sales and distribution effort is led by Scott Weiss and Tim Greene, who were previously top-producing salespeople at Barclays and Lehman Brothers. 

Copeland, who serves as President of Melius Research, will lead coverage of the global aerospace and defense sector and today initiates coverage of 19 companies including Boeing, Raytheon, United Technologies, Airbus Group and Lockheed Martin. In the dozen years prior to joining Melius, he was ranked in Institutional Investor's All-America Research survey every year since he became a lead sector coverage analyst. Copeland was ranked in the top-three in the aerospace and defense sector for 2016.
