MT. PLEASANT, S.C., Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- TaxTalent, the online career and leadership development community for tax professionals and students, announced the results of its 2017 Top in Tax Educational Survey. This annual survey ranks the top Undergraduate, Graduate and Legal programs from the tax employers' perspective. The results are based on responses from 321 current U.S. heads of tax of in-house corporate tax departments and public accounting firms who were surveyed throughout a four (4) week period in 2016.
According to Tony Santiago, president ofTaxTalent and TaxSearch, the survey reinforces the understanding for schools that their ultimate clients are the tax employers that hire graduates. "Schools need to recognize that their ultimate success as an institution and for the students they serve depends on how well they can align their programs with the needs and wants of tax employers," says Santiago.
"We are continuously investing in promoting and educating students about the benefits of a career in tax," says Santiago. "Our free membership connects students with one-of-a-kind resources including a tax career roadmap, scholarship and internship opportunities, career support through on-demand mentoring and expert career coaching." Santiago says TaxTalent has also helped launch several on-campus Tax Clubs at select Universities that are committed to improving their connection to the tax profession. The Tax Clubs are also supported by their host schools, tax associations (TEI) and employers that are interested in hiring young talent.
