Tor Investment Management Announces Strategic Partnership with Grosvenor Capital Management

HONG KONG and CHICAGO, Dec. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Tor Investment Management, an asset management firm focused on investing in a broad range of credit and special situations across Asia, today announced a strategic partnership with Grosvenor Capital Management, one of the oldest and largest global alternative investment managers with over $23 billion in assets under management.

The partnership enhances Tor's ability to capitalize on the broad opportunity set in Asian credit and special situations resulting from the region's favorable capital supply and demand dynamics. Changing capital and regulatory requirements are causing tighter capital conditions among traditional funding sources, which combined with sustained economic growth in the region are creating attractive investment opportunities for institutions with deep investment and business building expertise such as Tor.  

Tor was founded by Patrik Edsparr and Chris Mikosh. Prior to founding Tor, Mr. Edsparr was the Global Head of Principal Investments and Proprietary Positioning at JP Morgan before joining Citadel LLC as Head of Global Fixed Income and CEO of Citadel Europe. Mr. Mikosh was previously a Managing Director and Head of Trading in Goldman Sachs' Asian Special Situations Group in Hong Kong.

Messrs. Edsparr and Mikosh are joined at Tor by a team of 12 professionals with significant investment and operational experience in Asia including Chief Operating Officer Jim Sweeney, who was formerly the CEO of Boyer Allan Investment Management.
