TOTVS Launches Free Beta Trial of Fluig Identity, Big Data Unites Identity Management with Talent Management
New Cloud-based Identity Management Service Mines LinkedIn and Other Social and Professional Network Profiles and Internal Systems to Easily Match Employee Strengths to Open Positions
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Aug. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TOTVS S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA: TOTS3), a leader in business management software development, today announced the beta availability of Fluig Identity, a new service for businesses that combines a cloud-based identity management system with big data to unleash new talent management capabilities. The cloud-based offering provides companies with the ability to combine social media and enterprise data to build an identity graph that will help better understand employees' capabilities and match open positions with current employee strengths.
With Fluig Identity, employees – and the companies they work for – gain mutual benefit from the information provided in their social profiles.
From a security perspective, Fluig Identity provides a single cloud-based resource that manages identity and access to corporate applications and resources as well as employees' social networks and other personal online resources, simplifying personal online access while improving personal online and mobile device security. For example, users can bring together business applications like Office 365 and Google Apps, as well as their online social media, shopping and other applications. This single-sign-on approach to identity management eliminates the need for employees to manage passwords and access to each site and application by making them easy to access in one secure location. The user can also enable One Time Password to access all their apps, from personal to work related.
From a business perspective, Fluig Identity improves security to the organizations when adopting SaaS applications, since all of them are accessed using secure and encrypted certificates using open standards, instead of depending on replicating weak passwords, for example. In addition, users can be automatically created once they are added to the human resources (HR) systems, or Active Directory, significantly reducing the time spent on creating credentials. Furthermore, the same advantage works for removing employee access when they leave the organization. All of these happen through configurable workflows to more than 300 natively integrated applications, like SalesForce, Google Apps, Box, GoodData, WorkDay and others available in the platform.
At the same time, Fluig Identity provides employees with the ability to opt into sharing professional information, such as the skills posted on their LinkedIn profile, allowing Fluig to map skills and experience to open company positions and unique task requirements. As a result, Fluig Identity helps management teams better understand their employees, and to match employees to opportunities inside their organizations that fit their personal strengths, experience and unique skills.
"Until today, identity and access management has been focused on security and protecting corporate resources," said Vicente Goetten, executive director of TOTVS Labs. "Fluig Identity creates a powerful new value proposition, helping management teams efficiently map employee skills, experience and interests to open positions that might be difficult to fill. It's the first time companies and employees mutually benefit from the information included in social profiles and inside the organizations. Fluig Identity provides a powerful way to reduce recruiting costs and employee turnover, while increasing job satisfaction and employee morale."
For example, multilingual employees can be matched to jobs that require fluency in more than one language or skilled engineers can be placed in positions that take advantage of their technology skills and passions.
Within a company, Fluig Identity can define which employees or partners can access which corporate applications. If an employee leaves the organization, the company can block access to corporate resources, but the individual can still access his/her personal applications within Fluig.
To protect privacy, each individual in Fluig must opt-in to allow Fluig Identity to scan and share information from each social or professional profile, with the understanding that sharing skills and experience can lead to new career opportunities.
The beta trial of Fluig Identity is available at www.fluigidentity.com for a 30-day period. Once the beta trial ends, organizations will have the option of subscribing to Fluig Identity for a $3.00/ user / month fee.
Fluig Identity is part of the Fluig Platform that combines Business Process Management, Content Management and Identity Management.
