Tower Hematology Oncology Medical Group Named Fight Back Chair for American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Event in Beverly Hills
Cancer treatment center seeks volunteers, donations for April 30 cancer support fundraiser
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tower Hematology Oncology Medical Group (THOMG), a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center serving the Los Angeles area, has been named Fight Back Chair for the American Cancer Society's 2011 Relay for Life of Beverly Hills.
The 24-hour fundraising walkathon will officially begin with opening ceremonies Saturday, April 30, at 9:00 a.m. All Relay for Life activities will be held on the grounds of El Rodeo School, 605 Whittier Dr., Beverly Hills.
Staff, family, friends, and former patients of THOMG will participate as members of Team Tower Power, taking turns in a round-the-clock relay walk to raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer. Participants will be treated to a pizza party, a variety of live entertainment and big screen movies during the day and overnight as they camp out on the school grounds.
Begun in 1986, the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life annually attracts more than 3.5 million men, women and children from 5,000 communities nationwide, as well as 20 other countries. Those who take part celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones, and fight back against the disease.
