TracFone Wireless and Voxiva Partner with Molina Healthcare to Provide Free Cell Phones and Mobile Health Services
Monthly phone service and mobile health programs at no cost to Medicaid beneficiaries
SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- TracFone Wireless and Voxiva, Inc. have announced a partnership with Molina Healthcare of Utah, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Molina Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: MOH), to engage and support Medicaid members in taking an active role in their health using their mobile phones. Through SafeLink Health Solutions, a TracFone Wireless brand, Molina will be able to enhance communications with their members through the use of free cell phones and help them stay healthy through text message-based health services.
Qualifying Molina members receive a phone with 250 monthly minutes, unlimited text messaging and toll-free calls to Molina's Member Services. Participants may also subscribe to Voxiva's suite of mobile health programs (text4baby, text4kids and txt4health), which provide families with timely information and alerts that encourage them to follow recommended guidelines such as physical exams, preventative screenings, flu shots and vaccinations.
Voxiva's mobile health services assist health plans in improving key quality measures and increasing member retention. Independent evaluations have demonstrated improved outcomes on key Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set/Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment measures such as appointment attendance and immunizations.
