Trans YouTuber Nikita Dragun Beats Out Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Viewership with Viral Video Response to Company's Anti-Trans Comments

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- "How's this for fantasy, Victoria's Secret?" This is the message behind a newly released viral video by trans YouTube star Nikita Dragun, which has been viewed over 4 million times on Instagram and over 4.3 million times on Twitter. The hot topic video comes in response to controversial comments made by Victoria's Secret chief marketing officer Ed Rezek, who stated in a November interview with Vogue that trans and plus-size women do not exemplify the "fantasy" that the brand is trying to sell. In response, Dragun shared a dreamy Victoria's Secret-esque video with her 4 million social media followers on December 5th, donned in lingerie and angel wings, proving that all women can deliver fantasy. 

In an official statement, Dragun said: "I'm here to prove wrong Ed Rezek of Victoria's Secret and show that any woman -- trans, plus size, whatever her age -- can serve fantasy. The video went viral in less than 24 hours and has reached twice as many viewers than the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which suffered it's lowest ever TV ratings in 2018 with 3.3 million views. 

Still, Dragun insists "this isn't a hate video" and that she isn't looking to be cast as a model for the brand. Instead, she hopes to encourage women outside of Ed Rezek's idea of "fantasy" to embrace their own body and sexuality.
