MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Transition Networks, Inc., a leading provider of edge connectivity solutions, today announced its participation at the Milestone Systems annual Milestone Integration Platform Symposium (MIPS), taking place at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee on February 25, 2019.

In 2018, Transition Networks partnered with Milestone Systems to integrate its Smart Managed Power-over-Ethernet Plus (PoE+) Switches into the Milestone Systems XProtect Video Management System (VMS) to enable improved control and better management of security cameras and other connected devices. The heart of the partnership is the integration of Transition Networks' Device Management System (DMS) software for its Smart Managed PoE+ Switches into the Milestone Systems XProtect VMS. The DMS provides time-saving installation features that enable security integrators or network administrators to establish and document a baseline deployment, and automatically discover and remotely configure attached IP-addressable powered devices.

The company will demonstrate this integrated solution at MIPS, along with its latest hardened and commercial PoE+ and PoE++ products. These products include an eight-port fully managed PoE++ switch (SISPM1040-582-LRT) designed for connecting and powering Internet of Things (IoT) devices in harsh or outdoor environments and ideal for use with IP security cameras. Also on display will be Transition Networks' Managed Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Switch (SM24TAT4XB), a high performance managed PoE+ switch with (24) 10/100/1000 copper ports and (4) dual speed 1G/10G SFP+ slots.

The company will also showcase its award-winning, Self-Enclosed, Hardened PoE++ Gigabit Ethernet "smart city" switch (SESPM1040-541-LT-xx Series), which includes features that dramatically simplify installation and maintenance of these outdoor switches that are deployed in difficult-to-reach locations. The 4+1 port switch features wireless capabilities for simplified installation and extension of security and surveillance networks. The switch is optimized for easy set-up and maintenance of outdoor security camera networks through the inclusion of a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio for remote access to the switch and near-field communication (NFC) for mass pre-configuration of switches prior to powering up or connecting the switches.
