Trashman Celebrates Earth Day 2010 with His Most Ambitious Illusion Yet: The Magical Recycler
Steve Trash(R) Stays Close to Home This Earth Day to Entertain Kids from East Lawrence Elementary
FROG POND, Ala., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- In celebration of Earth Day 2010, Steve Trash®, Rockin' Eco Hero and Kid Comedian, will unveil his newest illusion The Magical Recycler to the kids of East Lawrence Elementary School in Lawrence County, Alabama next Thursday, April 22.
The Magical Recycler is destined to be a part of Steve Trash's® globe trotting Big Green Show, but this Earth Day, he's doing his part and keeping the magic close to his home in Alabama.
"I believe in the new Green Generation," Steve Trash® said. "Today's kids are really smart, and they get that recycling and the whole green thing is important for keeping our planet healthy. We just need to be good role models and show them how to do it."
"That doesn't mean we can't have some fun with it along the way…" he added.
In the new illusion, a young woman in an old, patched dress squeezes into the Magical Recycler. Steve Trash® then pulls the top and bottom of the Magical Recycler apart, leaving nothing but the woman's waving hand.
Once the box is back together, the woman emerges with a brand new recycled dress. According to Trash, "It's a magical representation of how recycling works; transforming old resources into new."
Steve Trash® has performance-tested this trick before, but he saved the official illusion unveiling to celebrate Earth Day 2010. An early version of this illusion is on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_-67g1tA-M
"From a magic standpoint, this is one of my most complex illusions," Steve Trash® said. "It really leaves the audience scratching their heads. Which is a good thing: the more the kids try to figure out what's happening, the more the message sticks with them."
The show on April 22 is sponsored by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM).
Steve Trash®, Rockin' Eco Hero and Kid Comedian has been featured on CBS This Morning, the New York Times, VH1, CBS Marketwatch, and many others. Last year, Steve Trash® partnered with green toy maker Imagiplay to launch the world's first Green Magic Set, which is available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and green toy stores everywhere.
