HAILEY, Idaho, Feb. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Make A Difference (MAD) Now, a nonprofit organization that provides quality education and care to vulnerable youth, and Adventures Within Reach, a travel company offering international treks and cultural tours, have announced a list of upcoming charity hikes for 2018 and 2019 around the world that will raise money for vulnerable children and schools. The organization's upcoming charity hikes offer a wide range of charity climbs which include:
The W Circuit of Patagonia, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, Everest Base Camp in Nepal, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and the Dolomites in Venice. All of the Make A Difference (MAD) hikes have one goal: To help end poverty with quality education.
"Most people in the USA and Europe don't realize how fortunate they are to be able to attend school from a young age. For example, in Tanzania, a child has to purchase mandatory uniforms, their desk and chair, lunch as well as pay for school fees before they can attend school. Add in being an orphan and/or from extreme poverty and the ability to stay in school becomes even more challenging. Raising funds for quality education and care is a great way to help children invest in themselves without creating long-term dependence," states MAD's Founder, Theresa Grant-Narasimhan.
Stephanos Antoniades, a climber that has completed three charity hikes and will be leading his second charity hike in September 2018, first started doing them to lose weight. "I lost 35 lbs. when I started training for my first charity hike up Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2012. Beyond getting fit and feeling better about yourself, it's such a great achievement when you are helping students across the globe achieve their dreams of staying in school so they can pursue a sustainable career."
MAD also offers a Charity Rewards Program for participating in their series of hikes around the globe that eventually offers up to $1,000 discount on future climbs.
