"Halloween is known for being a spooky holiday, but the hotels.com Halloween Sale won't scare travelers or their wallets," said Miguel Oliveira, Director of Merchandising and Promotional Products for hotels.com. "Fans of the ghostly holiday can celebrate by visiting some of the biggest Halloween parades and festivals while receiving gift cards to spend on food, clothes, travel and more."
On October 29, the "Windy City" will transform into a spooky city with its annual Halloween Spooktacular, taking place on Clark Street in Lincoln Park. The festival is free and fun for the whole family, with costumed characters filling the streets and free refreshments available. For some pre-Halloween excitement, visitors can check out the third annual Scarecrows on Parade starting October 15, where businesses lining Clark Street display their most creative scarecrow designs. Travelers can stay in Chicago at the Hotel Allegro, a Kimpton Hotel, and receive a $25 Pick Your Perk gift card for a two night stay. Rates at the Hotel Allegro, a 4-star property, start at $189 per night.
At the 13th annual Boo at the Zoo celebration at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., families are invited to trick-or-treat amongst the animals and their keepers. Open October 21 -23, kids can stock up on candy and snacks while checking out some of the most frightening animals around. Visitors to the nation's capital can receive a Pick Your Perk gift card when staying at the Howard Johnson Washington DC North/BW Parkway, with rates starting at $64 per night, or the American Inn of Bethesda, with rates starting at $89 per night.
Sin City plays host to some of the world's most outrageous parties, so it should come as no surprise that Halloween in Las Vegas is an over the top affair. Many hotels host their own private celebrations, but the public can attend the Las Vegas Halloween Parade in the Arts District on Halloween night. As part of the parade, judges will select the best costumes in categories including Wildest, Best Illuminated, Best Vegas Theme and more. After a long night of celebrating, visitors can get some rest at the 3-star Polo Towers - a Diamond Resorts International Destination, which sits directly across the street from world class dining and shopping at CityCenter, and boasts Strip and mountain views. Hotels.com customers booking through the Halloween Sale can receive a $25 gift card when staying two nights, or a $50 gift card when staying three nights or more.
