TreeEra Introduces Unique Model to Combat Climate Change
Innovative subscription-based service makes planting trees simple and accessible for Americans
CALGARY, July 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ - Now available to Americans, TreeEra has launched a subscription-based model that is dedicated to reducing the carbon footprint. The Canadian-based start-up makes the process of planting trees easy, affordable and accessible. Now planting trees in Black Hills, South Dakota, TreeEra enters the United States market at a crucial time to help combat climate change.
Every 48 hours the planet loses a forest the size of New York. Aware of the impacts of climate change and the lack of accessible options, co-founders Ryan Heal and Michael Bernard Fitzgerald created TreeEra, a way for people to join a community, based on an unique subscription platform that makes tree-planting easy and complements a sustainable lifestyle.
The TreeEra platform allows members to community-fund the planting of trees with a low payment of $12 per month for 100 trees annually or $20 per month for 200 trees annually. Working in partnership with leading tree-planting company Brinkman & Associates in Black Hills, South Dakota, TreeEra subscribers can trust that contributions are putting trees in the ground and making a global difference.
"We wanted to build a community around positive and simple action, and planting trees seemed like the perfect place to start," states co-founder Michael Bernard Fitzgerald. "For the price of a drop-in workout, or a few coffees, individuals can start to make a measureable impact. One tree does an incredible amount of good, like providing enough oxygen for a family of four to breathe."
Since launching in Canada, TreeEra has planted over 12,000 trees. These trees will offset nearly one ton of carbon each, providing enough oxygen for 48,000 people.
TreeEra has entered the retail market in the United States with the launch of the 5-Tree Package, an embroidered patch program that plants five trees for each patch sold. Available in select stores across United States, the patch costs $15 and provides an easy alternative for those who want to demonstrate and show support in the battle against climate change. Retailers include: Road Trip (Lake Arrowhead, CA) and Field House (Beverly, MA).
