According to Gary Guerin, Swagger Awards founder and owner of SWAY Events, "I'm a local business owner and event promoter, so I am constantly referred to cool new service providers in and around the State. That's why I created the Swagger Awards - to help trendy locals identify and celebrate the most outrageous and stylish people and places in The Valley. In fact, all nominations and votes are submitted by the public on our Web site. We just put on the show."
Until September 13th, Swagger Award votes can be submitted online in offbeat categories that include "Hottest Handcrafted Cocktails," "Local Artist You Should Know About Now," "It's a Dive! But We Still Love It!" and "You Have to Check This Place Out!"
Additionally, Guerin and his SWAY Events team have selected four Super Swagger Award winners, this year, recognizing people and organizations that promote and drive Phoenix-based businesses and talent. They include:
RAW Artists Phoenix, an independent arts organization that helps talented, yet unnoticed, artists succeed. Combining film and fashion, painting and performance, makeup and music, several RAW Artists will perform at this year's Swagger Awards.
Stateside Presents, a concert promotion company bringing bands and performers of all genres to Phoenix and Tucson venues of all sizes.
Kimber Lanning, Founder and Director of Local First AZ, a non-profit organization created to strengthen our State's economy by encouraging Arizonan's to shift 10% of their spending to local businesses.
UNION at The Biltmore, a locally-owned independent concept located between Stingray Sushi and Seasons 52. It offers shoppers an exciting mix of 18 small, distinctive boutiques and casual eatery, Trattoria del Pierro by the Queen Creek Olive Mill.
Chosen for their free-thinking spirits, innovative concepts and delivery of style to the Phoenix market, all four will be featured in a special documentary, shown at the Awards ceremony.
Beginning with a cocktail hour, hosted by the new Ciroc Amaretto, this year's Swagger Awards will also feature live music, a local artist installation and an after-party that will feature RAW Artist musicians and talent. Limited tickets are $20 and available at swayevents.com.
