These VVT test stands execute performance, endurance, cam-phase, and valve deactivation testing, where the test system can physically drive an engine's crankshaft and control cam phasers while taking complex measurements that allow testing before the engine is fully designed. This technology also can be used to validate engine design and perform production tests.
