FORT LEE, N.J., May 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The decision to run a triathlon is not an easy one. The training is hard; the commitment in time and money is not cheap; and success on race day can be determined by factors outside of an athlete's control. Is the water too cold, is the run steeper than expected, did your chain fall off? The one thing you can control is the quality of your bike.

For any level athlete, equipment makes a difference, and for triathletes, the bike can be the difference between a good and GREAT race.
Tri-Cycle Rentals, a company started by triathletes, for triathletes, announced today the official launch of the first and only company dedicated to providing triathletes with access to high-end, race-day ready rental bikes.
As seasoned triathletes, with a combined 50 triathlons, from sprints to Ironman, under their belts, the trio of founders was determined to solve the problems associated with athletes traveling with their bikes to races. Each had endured the angst, hassle and limitations of existing bike travel options, including traditional shipping (FedEx, UPS), bike-specific transport companies and the airlines, and knew that there had to be better solution.
"Tri-Cycle Rentals, will give our athletes the peace of mind that when they arrive at their race, a state of the art, race-ready bike will be waiting for them. These athletes will be riding a bike with a real 'lust factor'," said Erol Sarikaya, co-founder and President. "While we can't motivate athletes to run that extra mile or swim that extra lap, Tri-Cycle Rentals can help them avoid the roundtrip cost and frustration of traveling with their bikes — disassemble, box, ship and reassemble — repeat!"
Tri-Cycle Rentals' fleet is comprised of twenty (20) 2011 Orbea Ordu SLT triathlon bikes of various sizes and are equipped with Shimano Ultegra Grupo. Each bike is outfitted with water cages, tool kit and bike computers. Customers have the option of upgrading their wheels to Zipp 404s. Athletes only responsibility is bring their own pedals and helmet. Orbea is one the leading manufacturers of triathlon bikes and sponsors professional triathletes that include Craig Alexander and Emma Moffat.
The Tri-Cycle Rentals process is simple:
--Reserve a bike at tricyclerentals.com
--Travel bike-free to the race
--Meet the Tri-Cycle Rentals team at race expo or transition area
--Take receipt of bike, receive personalized bike fitting and review operation of bike
--Participate in the event - race hard and have fun and most important - be safe!
--Return bike to Tri-Cycle Rentals

Added Jeffrey Goldberger, co-founder and Head of Marketing, "You buy your music online, purchase airline tickets online; why should renting the best triathlon bike on the market be any different."
Co-founder Jeff Mark, Head of Business Development, concluded, "We chose to work with Orbea because of their dedication to the sport of triathlon. They share our passion and vision and have been extremely supportive of our efforts; we look forward to expanding our relationship over time."
