Nikolas Badminton leads digital and social strategy for Vancouver-based clients
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribal DDB Canada, the integrated digital and social marketing arm of DDB Canada, is pleased to announce that Nikolas Badminton has joined the Vancouver office as Director of Digital Strategy. In his new role, Badminton leads the planning and strategy team responsible for creating the digital and social strategies for Tribal DDB Vancouver clients, including the Canadian Tourism Commission, BC Hydro and the University of British Columbia.
With 15 years of traditional and digital marketing experience in consumer and business-to-business markets, Badminton has delivered award-winning client programs across a range of categories including travel, consumer packaged goods, finance, telecommunications, entertainment and technology. Badminton worked independently for the past year with the United Nations and various nonprofit organizations to build connected online communities. Prior to that he was the Strategy Director at Blast Radius, where he worked with Microsoft, AT&T, Electronic Arts and Kiwi Collection in building world-class digital engagement platforms.
"Nik has developed innovative digital and social strategies, which have fostered persistent online consumer engagement for an impressive list of clients," says Marty Yaskowich, Managing Director, Tribal DDB Vancouver. "He offers a compelling combination of social, mobile, digital and CRM expertise that will help clients develop powerful user experiences that span all digital touch points."
Badminton is a graduate of Bournemouth University with a degree in Applied Psychology and Computing, where he studied the early rise of the Internet, computer-supported communications (the forerunner to modern social networks), and artificial intelligence in relation to natural language systems.
"With my foundation in traditional business strategy and experience straddling both traditional and digital marketing, I have the ability to understand the needs of clients on multiple levels and implement digital programs that deliver transformation and results," says Badminton. "I also come from the world of data and insights, which is integrated into all thinking and strategies that are defined. It's not just reporting, but true, actionable insights that lead to execution and continual optimization of our clients' businesses and digital programs."
Badminton provides thought leadership on mobile marketing, social media outreach, behavior- targeted direct marketing, and the intersection of traditional and digital marketing to trade media via frequent conference presentations.
On March 12th, 2011, Badminton will speak at SXSW Interactive in Austin about the future of mobile tagging at the PSFK Salon Future of Mobile Marketing event.
