NEW YORK, April 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribal DDB Worldwide announced today that its Colombia office was among the select companies that Facebook invited to participate in its prestigious Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer (PMD) program. In this evaluation, Tribal DDB was cited as a "Preferred Marketing Developer" in the "Apps" category exemplifying expertise in services and platforms for building socially enabled integrations – customized or self service. Facebook examined solutions from a number of providers with developer services, and placed developer service providers into four possible badge qualifications: Pages, Ads, Apps, and Insights. The first new class of PMDs includes 141 companies from 20 countries across the world.
The Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer program recognizes companies that have developed technologies in one or more of the following specialty areas: page management solutions, ad management solutions, services and platforms for building socially enabled integrations, and/or tools for Page Insights analysis.
"We will continue to be very involved in the social space, including Facebook experiences, across the Tribal DDB Worldwide network," said Paul Gunning, CEO of Tribal DDB Worldwide. "We believe being named a Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer validates that our strategy is working. We're honored to be among the companies that met Facebook's highly selective criteria."
Facebook's highly selective PMD program was created to better represent the various technologies in the Facebook ecosystem and to give recognition to companies that develop holistic solutions. The Facebook program's mission is to help developers build products that make social marketing easier and more effective.
"Social space is key for our strategy and creativity. We want to remain in the forefront of it," said Juan Carlos Ortiz, president of DDB Latina. "I feel honored that the agency is part of this prestigious group of developers and look forward to the responsibility that the badge represents," said Andrea Arnau, Managing Director of Tribal Colombia. "We're very happy to know that membership in this elite program means access to superior tools to better build marketing solutions that ultimately bring better results for our clients."
Much has been written about the rapid pace of consumer adoption of social media. Increasing fan counts and strategically creating Facebook pages is just the beginning. Marketers need to leverage the Facebook tool kit and integrate Facebook into a broader marketing strategy. According to a recent Forrester article, "To accomplish this, an interactive marketer must be both an 'oracle' who teaches an organization about Facebook and a 'gatekeeper' who manages access to the platform. As marketers mature with the social network and Facebook increases its commitment to brands, together they will revolutionize the advertising industry(1)." To manage this oracle-gatekeeper role, interactive marketers are turning to digital agencies to conceive of comprehensive and strategic Facebook marketing programs that propel their brands forward and engage their social consumers effectively.
